Developmental editing is a great way to make sure you have a strong story readers will love. It’s the most in-depth type of editing, addressing problems at the story structure level. What does this mean? You’ll get feedback about things like character development, plot, pacing, and scene structure.
The Big Picture
I read and evaluate your manuscript for the three main elements of every great story (character, plot, and setting) and the five key scenes.
- Up to 75,000 words: $250
- 75,001 to 90,000 words: $300
- 90,001 to 110,000 words: $350
- 110,001 words to 125,000 words: $400

Manuscript Evaluation
An in-depth review of the five key scenes, as well as the plot, pacing, characters, and setting. Includes a 5-8-page summary letter.

The most intensive edit. I evaluate your novel’s Story Arc, then do a scene-by-scene edit, commenting on the 38 story elements for every scene. Includes a summary letter (10+ pages), notes, in-line comments, and visual insights.
